Dresses, The Must Have For Spring
The one thing you must have for Spring – Dresses
Lace, eyelet, ruffles, white, pale khaki, nudes, cobalt blue and pastels. Just about anything goes this season as long as it’s a dress! The season has an air of femininity and luxe in light, airy and floaty dresses. Nothing too tight as this season’s options are more forgiving, creating a floating and volumous illusion that flows with the body as you move. What could be better? Jump into this trend now. Here is how.
The new shift is cut a little further from the body. It also has pleats and sometimes pockets on the skirt section of the dress. Other skirt options include a slight bubble. Most of these dresses are cut without sleeves. The most popular option this season has ornamentation around the neck and hemlines. Both embroidery and beading are popular and are a fresh and fabulous option when kept in the same neutral tones as the dress.
The wrap is a tried and true staple of a dress that is on the runway and in your local department store this season. This option is seen in both staple khaki and black tones as well in gorgeous bright colors. Canary yellow, emerald green, deep purple, pink and cobalt blue are the most modern tones for this spring.
The trapeze dress is making its first appearance this season. This style is very floaty and forgiving. Cut almost like a painters smock with little shape and very short. If you are tall and super thin this is a great option for you. For the rest of us shop around to find one that works for your figure.
Pair these gorgeous new wardrobe staples with ballet flats, wood platform sandals, thongs, or gladiator flat sandals. If the weather in your area is not yet permitting wearing the dress alone put it on over a turtle neck, skinny jeans or leggings. That’s right! The leggings and skinny jeans trend is here to stay for both spring and fall 2007. Done right any age group can opt this comfortable and flattering new uniform. Keep trying until you get it right. When the look is too volumous (translation = you look like you are wearing a potato sack) add a fabulous belt. The wide belt is back for just this reason ladies! Wear it at the waist not on the hips as we have seen for so many years now. This style is super flattering so get in the change room and celebrate those curves!
Lastly, one of the best things about the dress is that it makes for simple dressing. Whether you are going to the office, playground or function, put on a dress shoes and accessories and you are done. Out the door in almost a single step. What could be better than this? Simple and gorgeous!
And…on your way out the door remember to look in the mirror, and smile at that gorgeous reflection looking back at you.
Best-
Andrea
