Happy Spring!
Spring officially started almost two weeks ago and with spring comes the flood of memories of many past springs. For me personally it includes the essence of coconut cream chocolate covered eggs, the irreplaceable feel of the sun on my bare arms for the first time in months, and the fragrance of the damp spring earth. At a microscopic level as well as a macroscopic level, this soil is just bursting with the potential for a complete rebirth of all that is living.
The connotations of spring are so wonderful; I love the idea of rebirth when the flowers pop up and the green color returns to the grass. The trees once again fill in with leaves and the birds can be heard chirping in the early morning. What does this have to do with midlife? This feeling and essence can bring into midlife all that is young and fresh.
The season of spring gives me such inspiration, and the feelings I get with the memories and possibilities of once again being young and alive is quite strong. It is a wonderful time to once again rebuild, redo, reclaim, reawaken, rebirth, recreate, revitalize and reorganize. Do any of those words ring true or resonate with you?
Which one of those words would exemplify what you want for this new season? I plan to journal and define for myself what I want this spring to mean to me. What memories do I want to create for springs to come?
