Spending Time In Nature
Spending time in nature is a fantastic way to celebrate the season and to bring all that is fresh and new into our lives. Our body is sensitive to the natural cycles of the universe. These natural cycles include night and day or the circadian rhythm, monthly lunar cycles, the tidal rhythms and the annual cycles. By getting out in nature, and setting our intention to entrain with the energy of spring and the idea of rebirth. Spending time near a body of water, or a garden or a group of trees can allow you to utilize that power and definitely experience the quality of youth and new beginnings. This entrainment with nature can actually occur for us on a cellular level.
Of course, when I first learned of using this wisdom of entrainment with nature I had my doubts. How can such a simple task have such an impact on my life and wellbeing? Isn’t that what progress is all about, overcoming the natural phenomenon of the darkness by lighting up the world so we can go 24/7? If you are looking to find the antidote to this progress, try to place your consciousness on the rejuvenating effects of any aspect of nature that is convenient and appeals to your senses.
It is good to set your intention to receive the life force available from nature. Different ideas around this can be to spend time near a body of water, and imagine the fluid force of water assisting you with what you want such as washing over you with peace and serenity or instilling you with flexibility. I like to go outside when it is warm enough, walk on the grass in my bare feet, feel the solid nature of the ground fill me with strength, and the glow of the sun on my outstretched arms energizing me in many ways.
It may sound crazy, but don’t knock it until you try it! What makes this more beneficial that just mindlessly going outside is the intention you set. What quality of nature would you like to take for your own?
