Intuition Part 4 - Ego

Distinguishing between intuition and ego

If you have been practicing tapping into your intuition, you probably have had some doubts about the messages you have received. That is normal. It takes practice to distinguish between intuition and ego (including wishful thinking and fear). This week I offer some tips to help you with this.

True intuitive messages are always in service of your best interest and lead you in the direction of your soul path. It is very important to pay attention to the way you feel when you know you have received an intuitive message. Being very familiar with this feeling will help you discern intuition from other thoughts and feelings. When you receive an intuitive message, you have a sense that this is “right” – it will ring true for you.

Sometimes you will get conflicting messages and you may have difficulty figuring out which message is your intuition. Without clear awareness of your own process, you can become confused by these conflicting messages. This is why centering is such an important skill to master when developing your intuitive skills. When you find yourself in the confusing swirl of inner messages, you must center yourself so that you can feel the difference among the messages. Once you are centered and your awareness is focused inward, review each of these messages slowly. When you are centered your fear is reduced and you are more able to discern the true intuitive message. Remember what your intuitive messages feel like and see if one of the messages feels the same.

This week try using your intuition to help you make decisions. If you hear more than one answer, make sure you are centered and see if you can discern your intuitive messages from your other thoughts and feelings.

Next week I will explore how affirmations can help you develop your intuition…

Create a great week!
