Summer Beauty Tips

Its summer and we are all enjoying being outdoors.  Whether it’s hitting the beach with your new favorite book, running after toddlers, or sailing off into the sunset with husband of 50 years – its summer and its time for fun.  During all of these times and more, we all want to look great.  For this week, I’ve provided a top ten list of tips to keep you looking and feeling great.

  1. Add some highlights to your hair.  This makes you look and feel lighter and carefree.
  2. Always wear a sunscreen of 15 or greater on your face and neck.  Do this everyday.  The same applies for your body when you plan to be outside in the sun for any period of time.
  3. Switch your lipstick to a lip gloss for added shine and a more natural appearance.
  4. Deep condition your hair weekly to keep it looking shiny and strong.  The sun, pool and ocean all dry out and damage your hair. 
  5. Once you have a tan, use bronzer on your cheeks instead of blush.
  6. Get a great sunhat and wear it regularly.  Chic and practical, this accessory completes any outfit and protects you from the sun.
  7. Get a pedicure or give yourself one regularly.  Since you’re exposing your toes daily, keep them looking presentable.
  8. Go for lighter polish colors on your hands.  You can keep the polish on your toes dark red but unless your nails are short or you are going to a black tie event, keep the nail polish in light summery colors.
  9. Protect your eyes with fabulous sunglasses.  Oversize, aviators, the shield and wraps are still in fashion and protect your eyes from harsh glares of the sun.
  10. Exfoliate with body scrubs weekly to keep skin looking young and clean.
