Count Your Blessings
“Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.” –Charles Dickens
Sometimes life is hard. But when we wallow in disappointment, we stay stuck a negative, self-fulfilling thought pattern. When you say to yourself “This is all wrong! My life isn’t supposed to be going like this!”, it becomes even more difficult to lift yourself out of doldrums; and a lot of times, more disappointment ensues.
One of the quickest and best ways to turn things around (and lift your mood) is to change your thinking. Ask yourself “What am I grateful for?” Although this may be difficult at first, once you shift your focus, the same part of your mind that was noticing the negatives will now supply you with better things to direct your energy toward.
The ‘Principle of Gratitude’ says that the glass is both half empty and half full. How you choose to relate to the glass makes all the difference. Be grateful for what you already have, and you will attract more good into your life.
Feeling grateful or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life. ~ Dr. Christiane Northrup”
Coaching Action Challenge: Count your many blessings today. Then, take it one step further by writing down 5 things you are grateful for today, every day, for an entire month. Whatever you focus on grows and what you give thought energy to, you give life to. When you focus on the good that is already present in your life, you will stimulate the growth and appearance of even more.
Until Next Week!
Yours in Abundance,
