Let’s Talk Money! Setting The Stage
As promised, our column each week will introduce a new, quality financial question, and teach you how to use our coaching steps to shape a powerful new future. And, we’ll invite you to play along by sending us your questions and comments, which we’ll use to help everyone grow. Here are some of the answers to last week’s money question, “What does abundance mean to you?”
“I have to be clear with the Universe, about what I want, in order for it to supply me with an abundant return on my requests.”
“Having enough to share, spare, spend, and save.”
“Being completely free, regardless of my financial state, to appreciate life and help others, having an abundant spirit.”
And for me, abundance is the ever-present, all-encompassing energy that exists in, through, and around us always. It is not mine to “create”; my responsibility is to prepare myself for the experience of it, to facilitate the flow of it, and to honor the power of it in all its forms, including financial. Thanks to all who wrote in to play!
This week let’s concentrate on setting the right environment to play the game.
Setting the stage.
Talking about money may never be easy, but who says it can’t be a little more fun? Here are two basic steps for starting the conversation:
First, keep it simple. Don’t try to tackle everything that needs fixing in one conversation. Pick one area of improvement, identify a quality question around it, and start talking. For instance, instead of asking “Why aren’t I saving more money?” ask, “What are some creative ways I could save more money?”
Second, make it a game. Come to your money talks with more curiosity, fun, or wonder than you might usually. Introduce a game element, like pictures, challenges, or competition, and identify what a “win” looks like for the situation. Lightening up about your finances will help you find more creative solutions to your challenges.
It’s time for us to draw another card and play, so here we go! Our question this week is, “Does money add to or take away from your spiritual life?” Please share the wealth of your experience and ideas about this question by email to jenifer@letstalkcoachingcards.com.
We’ll share your thoughts the next time we’re together!
